Cartridges and headsehells' dimensions

Understanding the essential dimensions of cartridges and headshells is a crucial aspect of the audiophile journey, one that can significantly enhance your experience. These dimension charts serve as invaluable tools, aiding in the proper mounting and alignment of cartridges with tonearms.

Accurate alignment of your cartridge is critical for optimal tracking and sound reproduction. Cartridge dimension charts provide the necessary details to achieve this precision. They specify mounting hole locations, stylus overhang, and mounting distances, enabling you to align the cartridge's cantilever precisely with the record groove.

Ortofon cartridges mounting dimensions


A - distance between centres of mounting holes

B - cartridge width

C - mounting holes diameter

D1 - cartridge length without connector pins

D2 - cartridge length including connector pins

E - distance from stylus tip to the centre of mounting holes

F - the height from stylus tip to top cartridge mounting surface

NB: D1 and D2 are identical for MC Cadenza series, MC Windfeld, MC Jubilee, MC Kontrapunkt series, and MC Valencia. Connector pins in these cartridges models are lowered into the cartridge body.
