One of the most encouraging observations from Vienna was the continued curiosity surrounding analogue playback. The questions we received often went beyond specifications and technical details. Visitors wanted to understand the reasoning behind material choices, stylus geometries, damping solutions, and how seemingly small decisions in design ultimately shape the listening experience.
The response following the exhibition reinforced this impression. What Hi-Fi? included MC Vertex among its most exciting products from High End Vienna 2026, while AVForums described MC X50 as "a formidable offering" and referred to MC Vertex's performance as "genuinely special." More than external recognition, these reactions reflected something larger: a continuing fascination with what analogue reproduction can achieve and how far it can still evolve.
Beyond the launches and demonstrations, High End also offered moments dedicated simply to listening.
Throughout the exhibition, Ortofon participated in the newly introduced Vinyl Alliance Listening Sessions, where albums curated by Vinyl Alliance partners were presented across a range of exceptional playback systems. The programme celebrated the remarkable breadth of music that continues to thrive on vinyl.
Visitors could revisit Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here in its 50th anniversary edition, rediscover the intricate layers of Radiohead's OK Computer, or immerse themselves in the expansive and genre-defying world of Kamasi Washington's The Epic. More contemporary expressions, from the atmospheric textures of Cocteau Twins' Heaven or Las Vegas to the rhythmic precision of Floating Points' Crush, reminded us that vinyl culture continues to evolve alongside the artists and listeners who shape it.
What united these listening experiences was not genre, era, or familiarity. It was the opportunity to sit down, listen attentively, and perhaps discover something new – whether in a record you had never heard before or one you thought you knew by heart.
High End reminded us that analogue remains as engaging and relevant as ever – not only because of the products themselves, but because of the people, music, and ideas that continue to move it forward.
To everyone who visited us in Vienna, attended our launch event, listened with us, and took the time to share your impressions: thank you.
