I upgraded a super OM originally with a stylus 10 mounted on a dual CS505 (a low weight tonearm). I was surprised with the enhanced clarity the 20 brought. Compared to the 10 however the middle bass seemed a bit lower, but contrabass and cello still sound great. With the right setting of anti skating the sound stage was very detailed.

Without any prior break-in, the system performs perfectly right from the start. Bass is deep and present, and the resolution is excellent. Sound is highly balanced, and the timbre of the strings is remarkably realistic. I have rarely heard a system delivering such a convincing and accomplished performance—at least, not at this price point. I am discovering again my records contents !

In your manual, it’s unclear what balance means. Should the scale float just in line with the record, should the pressure point hit the ground? What is balance?

I like this head shell because after mounting my Cadenza Black and using it on the Technics 1200G tonearm with the large counterweight, it measured a perfect 9-10Hz lateral resonance with a resonance test track. It also provides a perfect solid mounting surface for the adjustable azimuth feature of the Cadenza cartridges. Other head shells are either not perfectly flat at the mounting surface, or are “soft”, making this adjustment more difficult. The dual top and bottom guide pins keep this one perfectly tight and straight at the tonearm.
Outstanding quality and utility. I'm always afraid that the stylus cap will disappear- for whatever reason - so now I have a couple of extras. Tom T.
