I own all three. When I bought my Verismo it was a revelation, cartridge that could offer digital levels of dynamic performance and detail "mano a mano". I then decided to add an MC X40, a bargain in comparison so why not? To my surprise it differs from the Verismo just in the nth level of detail and bass control unless you have sharp listening skills and heard them back to back almost indistinguishable!!, not given the new stylus geometry, I had to have the X50! Wow another bargain, the small delta in detail of the X40 resolved, now utterly indistinguishable from is much more expensive predecessor in detail retrieval and with the same bass character and dynamic performance as the X40. Goal accomplished Ortofon should give themselves a pat on the back. They have brought the performance of a reference level transducer to the to a much larger segment of vinyl aficionados. This is a cart, that by all measures, is as good as it gets.
I bought these from a suggestion from a friend. Don't regret the purchase. Solid.
Even more well defined than the superb Concorde Music Black. Stage, presence, and the bass response feels very accurate. The stiffer boron cantilever must have big influence here !
Going from ortofon Red to Blue (on a Technics 1200GR) really makes the difference. Glad I bought it.
I purchased the D 25 M Stylus for my single mono album by a jazz guitarist. Thing is I didn't know at the time that the album was mono! So I played it anyway using the stock stereo stylus. It just didn't sound right. I installed the D 25 M and it was simply magic! A different experience opened up in front of me! I'm going to open-up my listening experience to include mono recordings. One more thing-I just purchased the OM 20; can't wait to hear it!
It is a big improvement over the 2m Blue. Don’t get me wrong love the blue, but the bronze wow. Cymbals now dound like the should.
Upgraded from the 2M red concord to the Blue.immense difference in well defined bass.with good recordings it sounds really awesome.just had a listen to the Yello Touch album.you totallu forget the cd.
I would love to thank the person who rebuilt my cartridge. They did a marvelous job. Not only is the electrical and mechanical alignment very good, I measured better than-35DB crosstalk on both channels. The sound is so slightly different but not in a bad way.
Assembly to Thorens TD-115 worked without problems. Sound is great!
I am a long time fan and entusiast admirer of Ortofon cartriges. Got today a Concorde 5e, set it up to 1.8 gram tracking force to 2 grams and I am not disapointed!! Amazing cartridge. Full trasparent sound, strong bass, crystal clear highs... excellent stereo separation. Its a pleasure !!
These cartridges were better than I thought 😎 and the nuance of the colors matched the Pioneer DJ DJM-450 and the PLX-1000s to the letter 😩 I was NOT expecting that
Jumping up from the Red to the Blue made a lot of difference on original pressings. Not so much repressing. Good piece of equipment.
The stylus was replaced because the old one was broken, so no comparison can be made. I inherited the turntable with this non-functional cartridge. Otherwise, the service was great, delivery was fast, the packaging was very good. The sound of this cartridge is rich, just as I like it.
Belle expérience d’achat, colis très bien conditionné…
Cellule n’ayant rien à voir avec la précédente (AT…), qualité sonore fluide, mes vyniles revivent!!
I sent my Jubille for repair and three weeks later it came back.
I hoped the result would be good, but it was much better than I could have hoped for.
I highly recommend using Ortofon's service
I upgraded my Ortofon Concorde with 20 stylus to a Concorde Music Black. I thought that the difference would be barely noticeable - but I was wrong. The difference was like stepping into another world. Suddenly I could hear top and bottoms on my albums that I have never heard. I was and still am amazed after a year of using.
I have always been a fan of Ortofon. Good quality. Timely delivery.
